What is HHC?
HHC stands for hexahydrocannabinol and it is a psychoactive cannabinoid that is a hydrogenated form of THC that we all know and love. According to Wikipedia, Roger Adams first synthesized HHC in 1947 using THC from a cannabis sativa plant. HHC that’s available on the market has been incorporated from CBD or Delta-8 THC, which is synthesized from CBD.
HHC also naturally occurs in THC products because it is one of the things that THC degrades into. Let’s be clear: this is not a synthetic cannabinoid like K2 or Spice. It is naturally occurring but when it is used, it’s synthetically derived from hemp. Another term I see floating around is hemp-derived cannabinoid.
Preliminary research shows that HHC metabolizes into 8alpha-hydroxy-HHC and 8beta-hydroxy-HHC in the human body. According to Wikipedia, urine drug tests for THC test for 11-nor-delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol-9-carboxylic acid (THC-COOH). Do note that it’s not confirmed that exclusive HHC use won’t trigger a drug test.

I wanted my first experience with HHC to be through this medium. I’d be able to compare it to D9 THC and D8 THC – which I have largely consumed through combustion and vaporization.
How does HHC feel? Well, that’s a good question. Ouachita Farm’s HHC is an HHC/CBD dab. The dab hit me immediately and there was almost no perceptible creep.
Ouachita Farm’s products always hit me with that full-spectrum feeling smackadoodle. Spectrum doesn’t mean a spectrum on a scale of one to ten; instead, it means a band, symphony orchestra, or DJ with different instruments/sounds to contribute.
I felt a slight increase in my body energy meter. If I had to place the warm and fuzzies, I’d have to say that I felt them behind the eyes and right in the middle of the dimples. As with everything, each person’s endocannabinoid system is different so the only way to know exactly what the effects will be for you is to try it yourself.
For me, there was almost no body high. When I began, I had a cramp. The HHC didn’t help it the same way a good ol’ bowl would have. You can fix that up by adding other cannabis products if you can/want.
