Ouachita Farms Rosin Capsules, Magic Brownie, & Magic Cookie | Review - Slyng

About Ouachita Farms

Ouachita Farms is a top cannabis brand from Arkansas. It’s awesome to see products coming from the heart of America and reaching Americans all over the country.

Ouachita Farms is available in multiple storefronts, but also directly from the source. For anyone that finds themselves in Arkansas, make sure to check out the Ouachita Farms CBD Tasting Room.

The company’s cannabis products are made with full-spectrum hemp rosin, which uses a solventless extraction process.

For this Ouachita Farms review, we tested out some edibles (the Magic Brownie and Magic Cookie), as well as the company’s THC Rosin and CBN Rosin capsules.

Ouachita Farms CBN Rosin Caps Review

The CBN Rosin Caps come in the same paper/plastic bag featuring all the information needed with a sticker on the paper side. Inside the bag are five capsules with 33mg of CBD and 1.5mg of CBN per capsule.

The capsules also contain Ouachita Farm’s signature pressed hemp rosin mixed with MCT oil for faster and more thorough absorption.

For their capsules, Ouachita Farms sticks to a roughly 20:1 ratio of CBD to target cannabinoid. These CBN capsules aren’t pure CBN capsules, and for me, that’s a good thing, because of the entourage effect.

These are more familiar, and provide a way to mix it up when CBD alone isn’t cutting it for my relaxation or sleep aid needs.

What Does It Feel Like?

The effect I got is similar to if I smoked hemp flower all day, then took a rip of CBN kief an hour or so before falling asleep. The difference is, with a capsule, it won’t take me hours of inhaling and a dry throat to achieve the desired effect.

Effectiveness: 5/5
Ease of use: 5/5
Overall score: 5/5

Ouachita Farms THC Rosin Caps Review

The THC Rosin Caps come in the same paper and plastic bag, with all the information on a sticker on the paper side. Each rosin cap has about 1.5mg of delta 9 THC—not the delta 8 stuff.

Since each capsule weighs about 700mg, the 1.5mg of delta 9 THC is well under the .3% limit mandated by federal law. They actually come in at around .215%.

On occasion, I’ve had the pleasure of smoking hemp flowers that test around the .2% delta 9 THC range. It’s a notable difference than dabbing CBD isolate, as an example. I’m not sure if what I feel is a microdose of psychoactivity from the THC or something that results from the entourage effect.

What Does It Feel Like?

For me, I notice it most in a more pronounced relaxation—the kind that makes you want to take your time while doing things but isn’t actually slowing you down.

Effectiveness: 5/5
Ease of use: 5/5
Overall score: 5/5

Ouachita Farms Magic Brownie (Full-Spectrum CBD Edible) Review

ouachita farms magic brownie in packaging

The Ouachita Farms Magic Brownie comes in individually sealed plastic baggies. The packaging lists all the nutrition facts on the back and a summary of cannabinoids on the front. You’ll also find the date it was baked on the bottom of the packaging.

The date matched up because my brownie was still soft to the touch.

It’s pretty magical that this cannabis-infused edible exists. With a magic brownie from the dispensary, you essentially have to eat half a serving just to get 5mg of THC. You don’t get to have a full edible experience—you might as well have taken a capsule and a shot of sugar water.

Eating the whole brownie is what you want to do, and that’s what Ouachita Farms lets you do. Of course, if you want to focus on the CBD delivery of this edible, do eat it a tenth at a time.

Tastewise, the brownie was just what you’d expect from a brownie. It was still soft, not dry, and deeply chocolatey. I had a hard time discerning any sort of hemp taste—which made it extra magical.

What Does It Feel Like?

I ate it on an empty stomach and as my first meal of the day so I could feel the 5mg of THC. Suffice to say, I felt it. Full body relaxation combined with a light head and body high that lasted several hours.

Taste: 5/5
Effectiveness: 5/5
Ease of use: 5/5
Overall score: 5/5

Ouachita Farms Magic Cookie (Full-Spectrum CBD Edible) Review

The Ouachita Farms Magic Cookie comes in the same individual plastic baggie. Like the Magic Brownie packaging, it shows nutrition facts and ingredients on the front.

Most full-spectrum products don’t tell you how much actual CBC or CBG or even THC is in the product. They just let you know that whatever cannabinoids are in there, the amount of delta 9 THC is under the legal limit.

It’s worth repeating, even though there is a whole 5mg of THC in this edible, this product is legal under the 2018 Farm Bill Act.

The Magic Cookie tasted like a delicious cookie baked by your auntie. The taste of the rosin is subtle and enjoyable. It augments the deliciousness of the edible and doesn’t detract from it.

What Does It Feel Like?

Just like with the CBD brownie, I felt the effects on the faster side because I ate it as my first meal of the day. It’s stronger than 5mg of something from the dispensary because it’s a 28:4:2:1 CBD:CBC:CBG:THC edible.

The effects were the same as the brownie—the kind of smacked where you find yourself listening to yourself breathe because you’re so relaxed.

Taste: 4.7/5
Effectiveness: 5/5
Ease of use: 5/5
Overall score: 4.9/5

This is a truly full-spectrum and fully available edible, and I’m glad Ouachita Farms is providing this product.

The Verdict

I can wholeheartedly recommend Ouachita Farms to everybody who is 18 and above. Their entire range of products are high quality and formulated for real-world use. Whether you’re looking for the convenience of a capsule, or the enjoyable taste of edibles, Ouachita Farms has you covered.
